Brisbane. Sex that was done under pressure often causes a person especially women feel uneasy. But according to the study, 1 from 3 women still feeling sad and gloomy look although they were satisfied in sex.
Normally, the most often feeling that arises after having a fun sex is relax. This is related to the oxytocin hormones releases that triggers orgasm and lead to cessation of cortisol hormone that triggers stress.
Negative feelings such as sadness and anxiety that comes after having sex is called post-sex blues. Usually, this phenomenon is experienced by women who have sex under pressure or overshadowed trauma in the past for example they’re abused.
According to recent research conducted by Prof. Robert Schweitzer of the Queensland University of Technology, this phenomenon is not only experienced by women who do not enjoy sex. Even if they’re satisfied, the negative feelings still appear in some people.
Haven’t known for sure what the cause is, but the study revealed that 32.9 percent of women experience post-sex blues. This means that 1 from 3 women will feel sad and anxious though they’re satisfied with the sexual activity with their partner.
“Post-sex blues in women who have psychological trauma will make her avoiding sex. But because there are many who experienced it, then there is a possible other factors that could trigger it which is biological factors,” Prof Schweitzer said, as quoted from NineMSN, Thursday (31/03/2011).
Prof. Schweitzer suspect, psychological factors are not really trigger mood disorders which is also called poscoital dysphoria. However, research published in the Journal of Sexual Health did not reveal other factors that trigger it but that.
